Abstract
The ureter is vulnerable to injury because it has no features that consistently distinguish it from surrounding tissue and because it is locate close to many retroperitoneal structures and the colon. Fortunately, many iatrogenic ureteral injuries
are
detected immediately and repaired intraoperatively. However, those patients in whom the injury goes unrecognized usually have a complicated postoperatively course. The physician should become suspicious when a patient is progressing poorly after
surgery
near the ureter. Since injury may have a serious consequences, immediate recognition of the problem and re-establishment of drainage of the kidney are important.
Recently, authours experienced one case of urinoma occurred after total proctocolectomy with Kock's pouch formation due to nonfamilial polyposis coli with cancer transformation in a 26-year-old female, and report the case with a review of
literatures.
